Take the way of the Gospel – Pastoral Letter by Archbishop Comensoli

Archbishop Peter A Comensoli wrote to all the faithful of Melbourne on the feast of Pentecost, inviting the community into a conversation on how we might discern our common mission for the years ahead. He reflects that the way of the Gospel – the path of missionary discipleship – has always been adapted by every generation to fit the local circumstances. And so now, in our time and place, how might we invite people into the fullness of the Gospel of life, and do so with a renewed sense of vibrancy and vitality?

Frank Smit, member of our Parish Pastoral Council and Chair of our Finance Committee, represented our parish at a meeting with the Archdiocese on 12 May 2021 to hear more about their thought process. Click here to read Frank’s report. The next meeting, to be held in mid August, will involve the parish priest and two lay representatives of the parish, and the main discussion point will be around the parishes that will be good fit for each other as a Mission.

Year of St Joseph, 8 Dec 2020 to 8 Dec 2021

This marks the 150th anniversary of Blessed Pope Pius IX’s declaration of St Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church. More details…
