Baptism

Baptisms are held on the second Sunday of the month at 12:30pm by appointment (except January). If you wish to have your child baptised at the parish, please phone Liza Jansz at 0488 722 426 or email liza.jansz@cam.org.au to request for baptism forms. The forms include a pre-Baptism reflection sheet that encourages parents to reflect on the meaning of Baptism, their own faith journey and their plan for the continuing faith development of their child.

Once a date has been confirmed, and closer to the baptism day, a member of our Baptism Preparation Team will visit you at home for Baptism preparation.

Godparents

The role of the Godparents is to help your child in every way to grow into the Catholic faith. Being a Godparent means taking up a great responsibility for the faith formation of your child. For this reason, at least one Godparent must be Catholic. Godparents must be at least 16 years of age.

Presentation of your Child at Mass

Prior to the Baptism, you and your family will be asked to attend Mass for the presentation of your child to the parish community.

Annual Blessing and Afternoon Tea

Towards the end of the year, the parish holds an annual ‘Blessing and Afternoon Tea’ for all children who have been baptised in the preceding 12 months, and their families. This is a wonderful occasion where families can come together, receive a special blessing from Fr Jerald and the adults and children can socialise.
