Ready, Set, Pray! Children’s Liturgy of the Word @ Home

The Ready, Set, Pray! Children’s Liturgy of the Word @ Home video series has been created to provide an engaging space for families to encounter Jesus through the Sunday gospel. It is produced by Proclaim: The Office for Mission Renewal at the Archdiocese of Melbourne.

This weekly resource follows the familiar Children’s Liturgy of the Word format provided in many parishes. The series consists of 10 weekly sessions commencing from Sunday 18th October and continuing each Sunday until Christmas. We hope this experience of gathering for prayer will encourage families in this time when they cannot gather for parish celebrations of Eucharist.

Faith makes us walk with Jesus on the roads of this world, in the certainty that the power of His Spirit will bend the forces of evil, subjecting them to the power of God’s love.” – @ Pontifex Jul 6 2020

May the love and peace of our Lord be with and in you. Amen.

Bookings are essential, and priority is given to SSPP parishioners due to limited availability. We also ask that you refrain from booking more than one mass a week to allow others the opportunity to attend mass. Fr Jerald looks forward to welcoming you all back to Church.

Weekend mass video will be posted on this site every Saturday.

Weekend masses and Divine Mercy Novena remain suspended until further notice.

With effect from 10th November, parish office will open on Tuesday 9am-12noon and Friday 9am-12noon. For other times, parish staff can be reached by email doncastereast@cam.org.au or on mobile 0473 873 479

Read, Reflect and Share – Invitation to join small group bible sharing
Would you like to spend time reading and reflecting on passages from the bible with a small group of fellow parishioners, and then sharing your thoughts with one another? Each weekly session, held over zoom, is expected to take 30 to 45min, and participants will be grouped according to their availabilities as far as possible. To register your interest, please email cheryl.tay@cam.org.au with your available days and corresponding time block of morning, afternoon or evening, e.g. Wed mornings or Thurs afternoons, or Fri evenings.

Understanding the Different Parts of the Mass
Do you know why we make the sign of the cross at the start of mass? Would you like to know why we respond “And with your Spirit” when the priest says to us “The Lord be with you” at the beginning of mass? The answers to these and more are covered in a series of 5min videos by American Catholic evangelist, author, and biblical scholar Jeff Cavins. Learn more about God’s gift of the Holy Mass and how we can more actively participate in mass when it’s resumed in the coming months.

Games, Pray, Grow, Mondays 7.30pm beginning 19th Oct
Calling all youths from Grade 5 and above to join us for weekly sessions to pray and learn about the faith mixed a bit of fun and games. Each session will take between 15 to 30min. Details for Zoom meeting can be found in the parish newsletter.
